15th International Dialogue on Population and Sustainable Development
November 23-24, 2017
Venue: GIZ House, Reichpietschufer 20, 10785 Berlin
Leave no one behind on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights
The 2030 Agenda includes the promise to ensure progress and sustainable development while leaving no-one behind. Implementing this idea both through national policies and development cooperation, as well as international collaboration, requires a new way of thinking.
The 15th International Dialogue will be a milestone in the process of understanding the state of play of SRHR, the ICPD and how they relate to the realisation of the SDGs. The conference will focus specifically on the needs and rights of:
- Young people
- People with disabilities
- People in fragile settings
The first day of the International Dialogue will focus on how to advance these issues within the UN system, through the High Level Political Forum, the Commission on Population and Development (CPD), the Human Rights Council, and the monitoring bodies of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). The second day of the conference will focus on innovative solutions and concrete ways of making progress towards the SRHR-related SDGs for hard to reach and vulnerable groups. This part will focus on best practices and new approaches that are being implemented at the national level.
The 15th International Dialogue will bring together SRHR stakeholders from government, international organisations and implementing agencies, civil society, academia and the private sector. They can offer their expertise, knowledge, and vision on how best to embed, reach and realise SRHR for vulnerable and hard to reach groups in order to ensure that no one is left behind.
Important Information: The participation to the 15th International Dialogue on Population and Sustainable Development is by invitation only.
